A 40-metre vertical rock cut face adjacent to L&T's Birampura Pump House in Rajgarh, MP, posed an immediate threat of rockfall onto the structure and site personnel. Construction could not proceed until the slope was made safe — and it had to happen fast.
ViRaj Engineers designed and installed a comprehensive temporary rockfall netting system covering 8,235 sqm of exposed cut face. A concrete retaining wall was constructed at the base to catch any intercepted material, while high-tensile netting was anchored directly into the rock face at engineered intervals to contain falling debris.
The slope was secured within programme, allowing L&T's construction activities to resume without interruption. Zero incidents were recorded during the protection period.
“Speed and safety don't have to be a trade-off. On this site, we delivered both.
